LIBERTY: the state of being free within society from oppressive restrictions imposed by authority on one’s way of life, behaviour, or political views.
Filmmaker and storyteller, Nonkululeko is the personification of true artistic expression. Diverse and complex, yet simple and sophisticated bears testimony to her life, work and persona.
Nonkululeko rose to the spotlight in her early years reigning as Miss Soweto, at a time when the crown demanded more than just a pretty face, but true ambassadorship and commitment to community.
With over 20 years in the Arts, specializing in Film and Entertainment, Nonkululeko, also known as ‘Ms. Liberty’, is driven by a conviction for creating access into the industry, which she currently facilitates through various training programmes.
When not hard at work, this beauty is found unleashing the model in her at high end fashion stalls with names like Ted Baker, Coco Chanel, Jackie O, topping her list of faves. Before fashion her role as mom, avid reader and researcher as well as mentor is one she takes very seriously.

A second generation, multi award-winning filmmaker, Ms Liberty’s body of work includes filmmaking, producing, casting and all forms of storytelling.
She is Founder and MD of Soaring Eagles Academy, a Film Training academy, as well as Turning Heads, a talent management agency through which she continues to develop talent and mentor young and upcoming coming artists.
Her body of work is a compilation of passion and legacy with films like Mmrembula Nthabiseng, Kuhle Nkosi (2010); and Bare the Blesser’s game (2023). Ms Liberty has also directed local and international corporate videos, and is currently casting and producing on local productions including ads and other forms of film artistry.
